Polkerris Beach

A very sheltered, crescent-shaped beach with its own harbour, Polkerris is a great choice for families, with plenty of opportunities for children to play in the sand and calm waters.

But if watersports are more your thing, then fear not, this privately owned beach has got it covered. Whether you wish to windsurf, long to sail or fancy trying your hand at kayaking or stand up paddle boarding, they’ve got the equipment and tuition for you.

Nestled in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is plenty of parking at the privately owned car park around 5 to 10 minutes walk away, depending on how fast you can get back up the hill and there are also community-run toilets nearby.

With a pub and restaurant located beachside, you won’t be short on choice for refreshments and both locations are ideally placed to watch the sun set with friends or loved ones on a summer’s evening. There is even a shop and café housed in an old 17th century pilchard store.

The shop and Polkerris Beach Company centre is open between 10am and 5pm, seven days a week between late March and the end of the October half term. There is a seasonal dog plan in place between Good Friday and September 30.
