Hawkins Motors enjoys an incredibly rich heritage in Cornwall and has established itself as one of Cornwall’s most respected car dealers.

Proud to offer both unbeatable value and outstanding customer service on new and used cars and commercial vehicles, as well as parts, service and accident repairs, the group now have seven dealerships across the county and are the official dealers of Peugeot, Citroen, Hyundai and Kia.

Priding themselves on first class customer service, the business was first established back in 1993 when William Henry Hawkins, known to many as Billy, rode from Truro to St Stephen on his Scott Squirrel motorbike.

The business began growing in 1940, retailing tractors, cars, motorcycles and cycles and in 1946, Hawkins Motors was appointed agent for British motorcycles Arial, BSA, Norton, Vincent, Scott and ETS.

In 1972 Hawkins were appointed Peugeot’s main dealer for Cornwall, and have since gone on to become a Citroen franchise as well as being the county’s exclusive dealers for Hyundai and Kia.

Despite expanding across Cornwall, St Stephen remains the hub of the business and staff work to make sure it is more than just your average car dealership with Billy’s very own motorcycle takes pride of place in the dealership. The branch even has its very own café called Memories, which houses fascinating company memorabilia from decades gone by, as well as a soft play area for children.

Many expansions and franchise awards later, Hawkins Motor Group today continues to prove that providing first class customer service is at the centre of all they do. The Hawkins Peugeot Dealership in St Stephen has been named as one of the best in the UK after it was awarded the Guild of Gold Lion Award for the seventh year in a row. Reflecting outstanding performance in 2016, the award recognises excellent customer service and sales performance.
