Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge

Space Chase Summer Reading Challenge

St Austell Library are looking for volunteers for this summers space chase summer reading challenge 2019.

Volunteers must be over the age of 14, and be willing to come into St Austell library through the summer holiday and help them to administer the Summer Reading Challenge.

This is an annual scheme to help keep children aged 4 – 11 reading over the summer holiday. For every 2 books they read they get rewards and when they have read 6 books they get a medal.

For the volunteers, it would involve chatting to the children, asking them to talk a little about the books they have read, give out the rewards and maintain the record cards.

This could be a good opportunity for students taking The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award or partaking in other organisations such as Scouts, or indeed any student who would like to do something rewarding during the summer holiday.
