Cornwall College St Austell is celebrating
25 years of educational provision for the residents of St Austell and the wider
In April 1993 St Austell College was formed as a result of a merger between Mid Cornwall College and St Austell Sixth Form. The two entities came together to support the post 16 students who attended the surrounding schools and continues to deliver further education to meet the needs of the community.
2001 saw a further merger take place between the existing College and Cornwall College to become what it is 25 years on, Cornwall College St Austell. The St Austell campus relocated in 2006 to John Keay House taking pride of place overlooking the bay.
Adults and young people alike receive education and training. Young people looking to further their education and Adults looking to up skill for their careers. Many local businesses now work alongside the College by supporting it students in offering apprenticeship programmes. Did you know that specialist courses are on offer at the Eden project?
Many students have gone to have successful careers including; a world-famous artist, a professional dancer and even a chemist.
Currently over 3000 students attend the College. In excess of 200 different courses and pathways are on offer to the students supporting them with their chosen career path or further education.
Now 25 years on the College is looking to revamp and reshape the campus in keeping with St Austell towns ambition to refresh its image. Watch this space!
