Fowey River Lions Club

Fowey River Lions Club was established (or 'chartered') in 1977 and is part of Lions Club International, the world’s largest service club organisation.

Lions are ordinary people who do amazing things. They are men and women who volunteer their time to humanitarian causes in their local and global communities. As a volunteer organisation, all money raised by Lions Clubs International goes directly to charity.  All administration costs are met by the members, and we pay an annual subscription for membership.

We hold a business meeting on the first Monday of every month, at Trenython Manor, Tywardreath. On the third Monday of the month we have our social get-togethers, when partners and friends also join in.

Lions Clubs are central and vital to their local communities. It is the hands-on role in improving local people’s quality of life which really encapsulates the spirit of being a Lion.
